The latest PlayStation State of Play for October 2021 focused on third-party companies with games and DLCs coming soon to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. However, since developers are not directly under Sony Interactive Entertainment, the updates and announcements may also affect Xbox, PC, and even Nintendo Switch players. The Load Screen covers the games that the team is excited about, including any upcoming releases or updates.

The show’s biggest revelation was the gameplay trailer for Little Devil Inside from Neostream Interactive on PlayStation 4 and 5. On the Neostream website, the developers list that the weird mix of 3D isometric maps traveling with intermingled close-up third-person action or RPG sequences will eventually come to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, the trailer and website do not list a specific date for its release but expect the game to come out sometime in 2022.

Sony also announced several updates, including a major one for Bugsnax by Young Horses. The new DLC, The Isle of Bigsnax, is free for PlayStation and PC through Epic Games Store. The delicious little bugs can now wear collectible hats, and developers completed huts for player usage along with a brand-new questline.

Another indie developer adding a game to their arsenal is Steel Wool Studios with the new title called Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. It mixes some of the best animatronic villains from the series to hunt the player down but expect help from the big bear himself in surviving the robotic hellscape. Familiar series equipment pops up like the security cameras, the Faz Cam, and more. However, The Load Screen team is excited that the new title leans heavily into stealth-based mechanics.

In October, Sony’s State of Play for PlayStation was lighter than other months but packed in several goodies for gamers. On top of everything already mentioned, they announced the Devolver Digital game: Death’s Door will come to PlayStation 4 and 5 on November 23. Sony featured a few other titles, and this PlayStation State of Play blog post recaps the entire occasion. Unlike previous events, it highlighted independent studios, so most of the content will also be available on other consoles like Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
