E3 2020 was another live event forced to cancel, so the Entertainment Software Association or ESA announced an all-virtual event for E3 2021 in this E3 Expo news article. The entire occasion is free for all to attend which is the most accessible and available E3 event ever. Fans of video games will enjoy plenty of content from several different producers and platforms that have confirmed participation. The Load Screen covers the free digital event update for gamers worldwide.

There is one absentee from the list provided by ESA: Sony and the PlayStation exclusives they could show. It has been confirmed by the ESA in a TechRadar article that Sony will not attend. However, with plenty of game developers already participating in E3 2021, there is going to be content for the PlayStation console owner. Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Koch Media, and Warner Bros. Games should unveil products that are multiplatform including some for the PS4 and PS5.

Nintendo and Xbox are going to continue their product displays at the E3 2021 virtual event. Both platforms could have opted for their own branded marketing channels. Instead, they decided to focus on brand synergy by attending one of the biggest video game product displays outside of the Consumer Electronics Show. Could this mean an announcement on a bigger partnership in the future between content providers?

E3 is usually an exclusive club, where a limited number of video game investors and fans could get in. The Load Screen appreciates this outreach to all video game fans, including some who would not attend otherwise. While the event will lack the sights, the smells, and the questionable hotel rooms from prior years, it is safer for all this way. The ESA is making strides with adaptability to the changing gaming environment necessary to maintain relevance with E3 2021. See everyone else there!
